About Us

We work with individuals, small businesses, towns, non-profits and government agencies from our location in northwest Washington. about-us
The Language Exchange, Inc. began in 1986 as a one-woman operation.

After 4 years in South America, college degrees for Universidad Catolica and the University of Washington and doctoral degree work at University of St. Andrews, Scotland and University of Texas, Austin, Jaye Stover took up residence in rural Skagit County, Washington.

Working together with local linguists, Jaye began coordinating the services of sub-contracting interpreters and translators. Joining state and national professional associations, she helped raise awareness of professionalism. Our office team today includes client outreach, scheduling, resources, invoicing and project management.

We are located half-way between Seattle and Vancouver, British Columbia, a richly linguistically and culturally diverse corridor with ties to China, Japan, southeastern Asia, Russia, eastern Europe and Latin America. With funding from a variety of private and public sector entities, we have grown to a regional center for meeting language needs. Our translation services have expanded nationally as clients discover our years of experience and unique northwest expertise

Do you have documents, meetings, Labor and Industry claims, hearings, depositions, manuals or labor meetings that relate to farm and immigrant workers? Working in agricultural settings for over 20 years, we can help with any language services you require. Please email langex@langex.com or call our main number 360-755-9910 and tell us what you are thinking of.
